These gangs all have one thing in common. They do bad things. Very bad things, for example:

Gangstas are wannabee GANGSTERS who think they are real criminals. They indulge in petty theft, graffiti daubing and hurling sexist insults at women. They are despised by the REALLY mean guys!

Gangster Music

Gangsta rap is hip-hop music that is inspired by the violence of inner-city slums in the 1980s. Ice T was one of its early practitioners. By 1983 his single “Cold Winter Madness” had already fallen foul of the censor by being banned from the radio because of its provocative lyrics. By the late 80s, it was a rising art form and was scaring the music industry with the speed of its meteoric rise.
